Trauma Focused Care
I received my Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Bradley University in Peoria, Illinois. I am also a Nationally (Board) Certified Counselor (NCC) meeting the highest standards of professional counseling through the National Board for Certified Counselors. As I have grown as a professional, I have completed a certification program in complex trauma, and I am a certified EMDR Therapist trained through the Institute for Creative Mindfulness an EMDRIA approved credit provider. I am a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP). Additionally, I have completed training in levels one and two in Clinical Hypnosis Therapy, and I am a Certified Dialectical Behavior Therapist (C-DBT).
My own experiences in life have led me to this career field, and I know the pain of emotional dysregulation. I also have an autistic son, who has taught me so much about relationships and patterns in my growth as a person. I am able to not only be a soft place to land for parents of neurodivergent children, but I also work with those children to give them a place of understanding.
I have a passion to help others, and I know that my clients are the experts on themselves. I would only have to privilege of sitting with them as they navigate their life. My clinical experience is focused on a broad definition of trauma. The desire I have to help others focuses on gaining insight into what might be the underlying cause to their behaviors, emotions, and/or thoughts.
